The township has announced a free bulk disposal day this month.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, from 7 to 11 a.m. the GROWS Landfill, which is located behind Waste Managementโ€™s Turkey Hill Office, in Falls Township.

The program is open only to the residents of Falls Township and Tullytown Borough. Attendees are reminded that proof of residency will be required to participate.

The cleanup day is not open to commercial customers or contractors.

During the free bulk disposal day, residents can drop off a variety of bulky waste items, including yard waste and appliances, at no cost.

Officials have outlined specific items that cannot be accepted due to safety and environmental regulations. Prohibited items include liquids, oil, paint, car batteries, propane tanks, gas cylinders, hazardous household wastes, tires, chemicals, pesticides, and spray cans. Additionally, appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and freezers are barred from the event, along with all forms of electronics, such as TVs, computer equipment, and any other electrical items that plug in or operate on batteries.

For residents looking to dispose of items not accepted during the bulk disposal day, Bucks County organizes Household Hazardous Waste collections throughout the year. Those events provide a safe way to dispose of hazardous materials. Residents seeking more information about these collections are encouraged to call 215-345-3400 for further details.
