

A pedestrian was killed in an early morning crash in Falls Township, and police are investigating whether the driver of the striking vehicle was impaired.

The crash occurred at 2:42 a.m. Friday in front of the Castle Club Apartments in the 250 block of West Trenton Avenue in the Morrisville section of Falls Township.
Police said a 34-year-old man from Morrisville was struck by a silver 2017 Toyota Yaris. The driver was a 22-year-old man from the Levittown section of Falls Township.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries from the crash and was quickly transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton by ambulance, police said.

The 34-year-old man succumbed to his injuries within an hour of being struck, police said.
“Impairment of the driver of the striking vehicle is believed to be a factor in causation,” police said.

Officers were on the scene for several hours after the crash.
The fatality was the second of a pedestrian in the area within hours. An unrelated incident happened Thursday night along East Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township.
