
A portion of Mill Street in Bristol Borough will be closed starting Monday due to pedestrian safety improvement efforts, announced Mayor Ralph DiGuiseppe III at the most recent council meeting.

The duration of the closure was not announced, but the closure is caused by the project that will improve pedestrian safety.

Last week, road closed signs shrouded in black were set up in preparation for this week’s closure.

Funded by $406,021 in state grants, the pedestrian safety improvement project is slated for completion in spring, the mayor said in February.
Workers have been constructing curbed bump-outs at the intersection of Mill and Radcliffe streets. Additionally, the project will include the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps.

The work builds on previous safety measures, including the installation of stop signs by PennDOT in 2017.
