A 40-year-old man was taken into custody after Pennsylvania State Police said he fled from a traffic stop while riding a bicycle and towing a homemade trailer in Bristol Township.

The incident happened at about 7:03 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, when troopers encountered the man entering Interstate 95 from Veterans Highway, also known as Route 13, according to a state police press release issued this week.
A traffic stop was initiated, but the man failed to stop, state police said.
The pursuit continued onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike ramp from northbound I-95 where the man abandoned the bicycle and fled on foot, state police said.

After a short foot pursuit, troopers reportedly took the man into custody.
A check of law enforcement databases determined the man had multiple warrants for his arrest, state police said.

Troopers, according to the statement, also determined the man was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The man’s name and charges filed against him were not listed in the press release.
