On Tuesday evening, the Neshaminy School Board voted to appoint Bowman to become the district’s superintendent. He has been filling that role in a temporary capacity for just over a year.
The board approved a contract that runs from July 1 through June 30, 2029. His starting salary wasn’t immediately known.
Bowman called the promotion a “tremendous opportunity.”

“It is a true honor and privilege to serve the school district where I grew up and I graduated with my wife, Denise,” Bowman said, adding that his two sons also attended the district.
Bowman, whose wife is a common pleas judge, has been a longtime administrator in the district.

After the vote to approve his new job, the audience at the board meeting clapped.
Board President Marty Sullivan commended Bowman on being appointed to the superintendent job.
“We’d like to thank him for his service as the substitute and acting superintendent over the last year,” Sullivan said.

He added: “We expect great things from him and his cabinet. We know it’s a high bar but we know he’ll achieve it.”
Bowman fills the role after now-former Superintendent Dr. Rob McGee retired last August.

On Friday, February 24, 2023, McGee was escorted from the administrative building at Maple Point Middle School in Middletown Township. Insiders have said that McGee was instructed not to return and was subsequently placed on leave.
The school board has remained tight-lipped about the events that led to McGee being placed on leave and retiring.
