A Hulmeville Borough man was taken into custody on Saturday after a foot chase and a confrontation with police, authorities said.

Shane Longbottom, 53, was spotted by Hulmeville Borough police at approximately 3:11 p.m. on Saturday walking near the intersection of Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. An officer recognized Longbottom as having three active warrants for his arrest out of Bucks County and attempted to approach him, police said.
Upon noticing the officer, Longbottom fled through the backyards of several homes, police said.
Despite the use of a Taser, Longbottom continued to resist arrest and fight the officer, police said.

The ongoing fight led to officers from nearby departments being called to help subdue and take him into custody, police said.
Following the altercation, Longbottom was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment.

After being medically cleared, he was handed over to the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility, police said.
Longbottom was charged on Monday with resisting arrest and evading police on foot. Longbottom was arraigned by District Judge Daniel Baranoski and bail was set at 10 percent of $40,000.
Additionally, Longbottom is being held on the county warrants.

Court documents reveal that Longbottom is scheduled for a March trial in a separate 2023 resisting arrest case that was filed by the Pennsylvania State Police.
