Despite the closures, a recent check on Monday revealed the Outback Steakhouse locations in Bensalem Township and Falls Township, the Bonefish Grill in Middletown Township, and Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Bensalem Township remained open. The Falls Township location opened in 2019.
Reports from CNN and local news outlets indicate that closures included Outback Steakhouse locations in Western Pennsylvania, Iowa, and all locations in Hawaii. Bonefish Grill has seen closures in New Jersey and Virginia, while Carrabbaโs Italian Grill has closed at least three locations in New York.
Bloomin’ Brands attributed the closures in its earnings statement last week to a strategy of shutting down “predominantly older, underperforming restaurants.”

The move comes amid a backdrop of slight drops in same-store sales for Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, and Flemingโs Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. In contrast, the company reported its Carrabbaโs Italian Grill locations had increase of 2.6 percent in same-store sales.
Despite these closures, Bloomin’ Brands seems optimistic about the future.
