Fishing enthusiasts will soon see two vending machines filled with bait and tackle supplies added to Falls Township Community Park.

The Falls Township Board of Supervisors unanimously green-lit the installation of the machines adjacent to the park’s security shed by the boat ramp during the Tuesday evening work session.

The vending machines will not be owned or operated by Falls Township, but instead a park patron, who has been authorized by the supervisors, will undertake the responsibility of installing, stocking, and maintaining the machines, officials said.

Electricity needed to power the machines will be sourced from the available supply within the security shed, ensuring the vending machines are operational for park visitors seeking fishing supplies, according to officials.

Township Manager Matthew Takita said the administration plans to evaluate the vending machines’ success after this season.

In 2025, a profit-sharing arrangement with the machine’s owner could be considered if the machines are a success, Takita said.

Supervisors Chairperson Jeff Dence and Supervisor Vice Chairperson Erin Mullen said the vending machines are needed.
