Authorities were called to the Bucks County Emergency Shelter on Library Lane in Bristol Township around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31 for reports of an intoxicated individual. On arrival, officers were informed by a shelter employee that a juvenile was visibly distressed and running around the facility due to an altercation with her mother, authorities said.
Witnesses at the shelter reported that the defendant physically assaulted her minor daughter, whose age was not released, police said.
When questioned by police, the 51-year-old woman appeared confused about the reason for the police’s presence, becoming visibly upset and raising her voice toward both the officer and her daughter, authorities said.

The 51-year-old woman admitted to yelling at the girl but denied any further actions, police said.
The girl, however, told an officer that her mother pulled her hair and struck her in the face, specifically pointing out pain near her left eye and requesting ice for the area.

A separate witness corroborated the girl’s account, claiming to have seen the woman hit her daughter in the face and chest area.
An officer wrote she notice a scratch and redness on the upper chest of the girl.
Following the investigation at the scene, the woman was taken into custody and has since been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, and harassment. She was released on unsecured bail pending a preliminary hearing.
