Police Log: Protection From Abuse Order Violations, Man Throws Woman To Ground & More

DUI

An officer on a DUI patrol observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Lincoln Highway being operated with no rear lights visible and no functioning lights for the registration plate. The vehicle was stopped on Lincoln Highway and contact was made with the driver, and sole occupant, a 23-year-old man. While speaking with the man, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from Grant’s breath and person. The man was asked to participate in field sobriety exercises. During testing, The man showed signs of being impaired and was arrested for DUI.ย

Protection From Abuse Order Violation

A woman came in to the Penndel Police Department to report that her ex-husband, a 42-year-old man, had made attempts to contact her in violation of a court ordered Protection from Abuse (PFA). The woman provided police with copies of the messages which contained vulgar and violent language. Police confirmed that a PFA was in effect at the time of the messages. A warrant was issued by Judge Wagner for the arrest of the man.ย 

October 26, 2023

Arrest

Officers were notified to a suspicious person in the 500 block of Bellevue Avenue. Bystanders were reporting that a white female was acting strangely and stumbling while walking on Bellevue Avenue. Officers made contact with the female, identified as a 58-year-old woman. While running computer checks to verify her identity, it was found that the woman was wanted by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. She was arrested and taken to Penndel Borough PD to await deputies.ย

Possession Of A Controlled Substance

Officers were posted in the area of Neshaminy and Rumpf avenues in order to monitor traffic at the posted three-way stop sign. At around 9:50 a.m., officers observed a small white SUV fail to stop for the posted stop sign. After stopping the vehicle, it was found that there were 2 occupants in the vehicle. While speaking to the occupants, officers observed a strong smell of burnt marijuana. During the investigation, it was found that the driver, a 36-year-old man, had a clear plastic baggie in his pocket that contained suspected marijuana. The man was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.ย Additionally, it was found that the passenger, a 40-year-old man, had a clear plastic baggie in his backpack that contained suspected marijuana. He was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.ย

Assault

Officers were dispatched to a residence on DeHaven Avenue for the report of a domestic assault in progress. It was reported by the victim that her boyfriend, a 44-year-old man, and she had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical after the argument grew in intensity. The victim reported that the man had thrown her to the ground where she struck her face on the concrete, causing scrapes and bruises to the victim’s face. Prior to police arrival, Moyer had gotten into his vehicle and left the scene. A warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.ย

Protection From Abuse Order Violation

Officers were dispatched to the Mill Creek Apartments for the report of a domestic in progress. The victim reported that she woke up to noises in her apartment and found her husband in the kitchen. Her husband, a 40-year-old man, was served earlier in the day with a Protection From Abuse (PFA) order with eviction. This means that the man is not allowed to be in the apartment nor have any contact with the victim. The man was taken into custody without incident. Unable to post bail, the man was taken to Bucks County Prison.ย

Vehicle Code Violations

At around 10:25 p.m., an officer in the area of Neshaminy and Rumpf avenues observed a vehicle fail to stop for the posted three-way stop sign. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers made contact with the driver and sole occupant, a 22-year-old man. The man was unable to provide proof of registration as the tag on the vehicle was considered it to be a “dead tag” and not for use on a vehicle. The man was also unable to provide proof that his car was insured and he was operating the vehicle without valid PA emissions or inspection stickers. During the course of the traffic stop, a firearm was retrieved from the vehicle. Also found in the vehicle were multiple vape pen cartridges that contained THC. The vehicle was towed due to multiple violations and the man will be sent a summons to appear in court as well as multiple traffic citations.
