Man Threatening To Jump Onto Route 1 Taken For Care

A man was safely removed from an overpass on Route 1 on earlier this month by local and Pennsylvania State Police.

Authorities responded to the West Interchange, which is located between West Highland Avenue and West Gilliam, over Route 1 in Langhorne Manor Borough after receiving reports of a man attempting to jump into traffic below, according to a press release issued this week.

The incident occurred in the mid-morning hours of Wednesday, January 10.

Local police officers escorted the man off the overpass and secured him in a patrol vehicle.

According to state police, the 25-year-old man, a local resident, calmly disclosed his intentions to end his life during the incident.

The man was transported to Lower Bucks Hospital for a mental health evaluation, state police said.

Troopers later confirmed that they followed up with the man, who has since been admitted for further mental health assistance.
