
The planned Tuesday opening of fast-food chain Checkers’ location in Bristol Township’s Croydon section has been delayed.

A company spokesperson told LevittownNow.com several items are still being finalized and the store will open on Monday, January 29 at 399 Route 13.
Owned by Milin Patel, a veteran in the food industry who started with Dunkin’ Donuts in 1998 and quickly rose to store manager, the new drive-thru Checkers is part of his growing portfolio.
Patel, who entered franchise operations with a Checkers in Philadelphia, now operates multiple locations and expanded into real estate in 2020.

Robert Bhagwandat, Checkers’ senior director of franchise development, commended Patel’s expertise and commitment to the brand.
The Croydon site, a fresh prototype for Checkers, features a new design and simplified operations.

The building shared by the new Checkers and a smoke shop previously housed various banks, including Wells Fargo and Farmers National Bank of Bucks County.
The new restaurant marks Checkers’ fourth in Pennsylvania, with Patel planning further expansion in Bucks County.
A previous Checkers operated at Woodbourne and Bristol Oxford Valley roads in Levittown’s Middletown Township until its 2013 closure.

Checkers, which merged with Rally’s in 1999 into a single concept, operates 800 locations nationwide, mostly through franchises. The company aims to expand in several states, including Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, as part of its growth strategy.
