The streets of Middletown Township have seen the debut of their newest snow plow, which has been named “Scoop Dog.”

The new name comes following a “Name the Plow” contest organized by the township earlier this month.
The contest offered six quirky names for residents to vote on. The names vying for the top spot included “Blizzo,” “Betty Whiteout,” “Scoop Dog,” “Rocky Plowboa,” “Ctrl Salt Delete,” and “Sleetwood Mac.”
Eventually, “Scoop Dog” emerged as the community’s favorite.

Naming contests have been gaining popularity in government.
PennDOT has allowed students to paint snow plows. The initiative had included at least one plow that is in regular use in Bucks County.
