The township is planning to enforce its snow and ice removal ordinance and is warning residents and business owners of the consequences of non-compliance.

In response, officials have announced they will be enforcing the existing ordinance.

According to Bristol Township, contractors will be hired to clear and salt any sidewalks not cleared within 12 hours after snowfall.

“A lien will be placed on your property for the contractor’s time and materials and a violation notice will also be sent,” they added.

The township’s announcement on Facebook came after the recent snowfall and icing and ahead of another predicted storm.

All sidewalks and walkways must be cleared within 12 hours after snowfall ceases by property owners, occupants and/or tenants. The Township may proceed immediately to clear all snow and/or ice from the sidewalk if not cleared within time prescribed and to collect the expenses of such removal, with an additional amount of 10 percent, which may be in addition to any fine or penalty imposed.
