Officials from Bristol Township and Amtrak are set to meet with residents next week to discuss the ongoing closure of the Randall Avenue Bridge

The public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 23 at 7 p.m. at the Bristol Township Administration Building located at 2501 Bath Road.

According to a flyer from the township, the meeting will include a status update on the bridge and listen to concerns from the community.

The bridge, which connects Route 13 and Radcliffe Street, has been a subject of concern after significant deterioration was noticed last winter. The damage led to the bridgeโ€™s emergency closure in February, and it has remained closed since.

The closure of the 169-foot bridge in the Edgely section has led to a significant disruption.

The bridge not only spans Amtrakโ€™s Northeast Corridor but also SEPTAโ€™s Trenton Line and various freight rail routes.

Built in 1919, PennDOT had previously deemed the bridge to be in poor condition.

Bristol Township Manager Randee Elton has emphasized at council meetings the importance of a detailed assessment of the bridgeโ€™s damage before making any future decisions.

While the options of either dismantling or repairing the bridge have been suggested, both are expected to involve a large price tag.
