Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene around 6:15 a.m. Thursday following reports of the crash in Morrisville Borough.

According to troopers, the unidentified pedestrian was attempting to cross the toll bridge on foot. She was walking in the center next to the concrete barriers on the northbound side in Morrisville Borough when a northbound tractor-trailer in the left travel lane hit her. The impact caused her to hit the concrete barrier and fall onto the left travel lane. She was then struck by two additional vehicles.

Investigators said they need the public’s help to identify the woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene from her injuries.

The victim was a black woman in her 30s or 40s, approximately 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8, with brown eyes and black hair with light brown highlights. The woman was wearing a multicolored wool winter cap, a black hooded sweatshirt over a blue jacket with an FDR Services Healthcare Laundry Specialist logo, black leggings, and black boots. She was carrying a light brown-colored small purse, state police said.

The tractor-trailer involved in the crash stopped on the New Jersey side at the Route 29 exit in Trenton. However, the other two vehicles, a white pickup truck and a dark-colored SUV, continued northbound and did not stop.

State police said the drivers of those vehicles may not have been aware of their involvement in the crash.
