An axe throwing business in Bristol Township has announced its sudden closure after four years in operation.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House, which was located in the industrial park on Grundy Lane off Newportville Road near Second Sin Brewing Company, shut its doors permanently on Friday.
The announcement was made via a Facebook post by the operators.
“Thank you, Bucks County, for an incredible ride. As of today, our doors will be permanently closed,” the post read.

No specific reason for the closure was provided, leaving customers on social media with unanswered questions regarding the handling of unused gift cards.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House was known for its 12 axe throwing pits and a private party room. In addition to axe throwing, the venue offered cornhole and other party games.

The business first opened its Bristol Township location in 2019. It underwent a change in franchise ownership in 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused a months-long shutdown in 2020, but the business has reopened after pandemic mitigation restrictions eased.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House started its first location in Eatontown, New Jersey in 2015 and has since expanded to several other states, including California, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
