U.S. senators Bob Casey and John Fetterman, both Democrats, announced Monday morning that $30 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to construct a new high-level pedestrian platform for riders of SEPTA Regional Rail and Amtrak’s Keystone Service, according to a statement.
The station is along the Trenton Line, which has stations in Bristol Township’s Croydon section, Bristol Borough, and Tullytown Borough. It also shares space with Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.
SEPTA will allocate $11,956,000 toward the project, and Amtrak will put $244,000 toward the station reconstruction.

In a statement, SEPTA reported it will put $13.1 million in additional federal funds toward the project.
No timeline for the project was announced.

The funding announced Monday was one of 25 rail projects that will be using federal infrastructure money. President Joe Biden, who was a frequent rail rider, spoke on the investments in Delaware on Monday.

โThese investments will make our busiest passenger railroad safer, faster, and more reliable, which means fewer delays and shorter commutes for the 800,000 passengers who rely on the Northeast Corridor every day,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said in a statement.
