Earlier this month, Nicholas “Nicky” Christopher was honored by the Bucks County Commissioners for helping raise tens of thousands of dollars for nonprofit Alpha Bravo Canine, which provides service dogs to veterans grappling with combat-related injuries.
In the span of two years, with the assistance of fellow student volunteers from Pennsbury High School, Christopher has successfully raised over $50,000 for Alpha Bravo Canine.
The origins of the local teenager’s philanthropic journey trace back to an innovative business idea he formulated during the pandemic, known as “The Birthday Lawn Bandit.” Capitalizing on the idea of decorating people’s lawns, he generously contributed half of his business earnings to Alpha Bravo Canine.

Christopher launched the “Strolling for Service Dogs” event, which saw success in its mission to support the nonprofit.
“We wanted to give back to the community, and that’s why we partnered with Alpha Bravo Canine,” Christopher said.

Jennifer Green, the founder of Alpha Bravo Canine, commended Christopher for his efforts to help the nonprofit. She noted that he didn’t just raise funds, but he also is a volunteer.
“He’s giving back to our local community, which is amazing. I look at Nicky as one of our future leaders,” she said, while standing next to service dog Striker.
Christopher’s efforts were recognized during National Service Dog Month.
