Pennsbury High School’s newly renovated Falcon Field made its public debut this week.

On Thursday, Pennsbury’s field hockey team played Harry S. Truman High School’s team on the new field. Pennsbury won the game 10-0.
On Thursday evening, the Pennsbury Falcons took on Central Bucks High School West on the new field. The Central Bucks High School West team beat Pennsbury 20-3.
The games were among the first at the Falls Township high school’s overhauled $4.2 million stadium.

“There is still work to be done, but the new multi-purpose stadium is looking good!” district officials said.
Work to demolish the previous stadium began last spring and construction work has been ongoing since. The new bleachers, press box, and turf field were installed as the project moved forward.

The new stadium was needed after a structural review of the previous stadium was completed in summer 2019 at the request of the district administration and school board.
Remington and Vernick Engineers completed the review and said the bleachers needed work.
“In order to protect the structure for long-term use, the steel is recommended to be properly cleaned, prepared and painted to prevent further rusting and deterioration,” according to the engineering report.

The press box overlooking the stadium had suffered decay and had to be rebuilt.
The turf, LED lights, and a new scoreboard were needed to bring the stadium complex up to date.
