Middletown Recognizes Officers For Gun Store Burglary, Homicide Investigations

Middletown Township Chief of Police Bartorilla handed out a number of commendations this month to officers who took part in two high-profile cases.

Law enforcement from Middletown Township, Falls Township, and Trenton were commended for their work handling a gun store burglary that happened in the township in May.

Middletown Township Sgt. Michael Russo, Officer Corey Huff, Officer Alexa Moors, Officer Brian Agostino, Detective Kevin Platenecky, Falls Township Officer Jacob Blickley, and Trenton Officer Michael Manning were recognized.

Three Philadelphia teenagers were adjudicated delinquent for their role in the May 30 burglary of the LugerMan gun store located at 1872 East Old Lincoln Highway. The incident led to a chase that ended in Trenton.

The other case was the December 2020 murder of Christopher M. Wilson, 52, of Philadelphia, outside a business in the township. One defendant has pleaded guilty, and the other was found guilty.

Middletown Township Detective Wayne George, Detective Sgt. Matt Kroiss, Bucks County Detective Eric Landamia, Bucks County Detective David Hanks, and Bucks County Deputy District Attorney A.J. Garabedian. A unit citation for Middletown Township’s entire detective unit was accepted by Detective Lt. Steve Forman.

Bartorilla thanked all those recognized for their hard work on the cases.

The chief recognized Officer Michael Stum for his 20 years of service in the department and his recent retirement.

Officers Melissa Robinson and Joseph Cullura were recognized, along with Animal Control Officer Cheyenne Keen, for their efforts on the successful National Night Out event.
