The Fairless Hills Fire Company in Falls Township was granted $33,333.33 for fire sensor upgrades.

The Falls Township Fire Company in Falls Township will receive $233,587.27 for the procurement of air packs.

Lastly, Edgely Fire Company in Bristol Township was awarded $26,305.45 to purchase a washer and dryer for the maintenance of their firefighting personal protective equipment. The fire company said the washer and dryer will keep equipment at the station instead of having to send it out to get maintained.

A previous round of grant funding was announced last week.

Since the program’s inception in 2001, the AFG Program has dispersed around $8.1 billion in crucial resources. For the 2022 initiative, a sum of $324 million has been set aside.

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a Republican, announced the grants and said: โ€œAs the number of volunteer firefighters continue to diminish after every passing year, the need for modern fire fighting equipment and costs associated with fire protection service expenditures continues to increase. The AFG program is an incredibly vital investment to our volunteer fire departments as our emergency services continue to change and modernize over time. These funds are also very vital to our residents, who rely on these services to keep them safe, while maintaining the well respected departments that continue to serve our community.โ€
