A man was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday after his car went off I-295 westbound and ended up near the train line.

Pennsylvania State Police, firefighters, and medics responded just past 12:05 p.m. to a report of a car off the highway, down a ditch, and in the woods, according to Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene and found the car in the woods, several hundred feet from the highway.
Farry said responders cleared the brush and found the driver in cardiac arrest in the vehicle.

“They removed him and began life-saving measures,” the chief said.
The Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad and Yardley-Makefield Emergency Unit sent ambulances to the scene.

The man was rushed to Jefferson Bucks Hospital. Farry said he was unaware of the man’s condition as of Thursday morning.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
Westbound I-295 traffic was slowed for about an hour as crews were on the scene.

In addition to the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the Penndel Fire Company and Middletown Township Department of Fire and Emergency Management responded.
