A packed Friday night at the movies was disrupted by a minor fire.

The fire happened around 11:10 p.m. at the Regal United Artists Oxford Valley theater at the Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown Township.
Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said crews were dispatched to the theater for a fire, which led to the evacuation of the busy multiplex.
Firefighters found a minor electrical fire in a stairwell leading to the projection room, and they made sure it was contained, Farry said.

“We checked and there was not extension,” Farry said.
No injuries were reported.

Moviegoers were out of the theater for about 15 minutes before they were let back in.
The Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company was assisted by the Fairless Hills and William Penn fire companies.
The disruption came on what is being called “Barbenheimer” weekend when two of the summer’s biggest blockbusters – “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” – made their debuts. Theaters also have several other hits, including “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, “Sound of Freedom,” and “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.”
