A home in Bristol Township’s Levittown section was damaged by a fire that started in a grill Monday evening.

The fire was reported in the 30 block of Appletree Drive just before 5:30 p.m.
Crews arrived to find flames that had engulfed a grill and were burning the front porch.
Levittown Fire Company No. 2 Chief Chris Shortt said crews quickly responded to the scene and the first truck was able to hold most of the flames.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread further, Shortt said.
There was only minor extension of the fire into the home, the chief said.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.
Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the fire was from a propane grill.
The fire “severely damaged” the front porch, Dippolito stated.

Shortt said the resident was cooking on his grill and went inside for 30 seconds to grab some seasoning. He came back out and found the grill in flames.
In addition to Levittown Fire Company No. 1, the Edgely, Falls Township, and Fairless Hills fire companies responded.
