Bristol Township police are investigating an assassination threat made against the same district judge whose courthouse was evacuated earlier this week due to a bomb threat.

Police Lt. Sean Cosgrove said detectives are investigating the bomb threat against the building and assassination threat against District Judge Kevin Wagner, whose courthouse sits on Bath Road.

Bucks County authorities were contacted by the FBI Thursday afternoon upon the latest threat being made through a national reporting system, Cosgrove said.

A woman reported in the threat a “detailed description” of a man who was reported to have been heading to the court with a gun. He was reported to be targeting the judge, according to police.

Cosgrove said the Thursday threat is suspected to be connected to the Tuesday bomb threat. After a search by officers and K-9 units, no explosives were located.

“We are investigating,” Cosgrove said. “We hope to get this resolved quickly.”

No one has been arrested, but investigators are digging into the threats and developing information that will hopefully lead to an arrest, Cosgrove said.

Court hearings on Tuesday were disrupted by the first threat. Thursday’s threat closed the district courthouse in the afternoon and will close it again on Friday.

Cosgrove said officers will be checking on the two district courts in the township as a precaution.
