Carry The Load Walkers Make Way Through Middletown, Langhorne

The rain cleared and the sun appeared Wednesday evening as walkers from Carry The Load traveled through Middletown Township.

Escorted by Middletown Township police officers and the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, the group was part of the nonprofit’s 20,000-mile endeavor to travel across America on foot before Memorial Day.

The team that came through Middletown and Langhorne Borough was traveling an East Coast route that will end on Memorial Day in Dallas.

The Carry The Load crew was welcomed with fanfare in Upper Makefield, Yardley Borough, and Newtown Borough. They stopped at the fire station in Langhorne Borough to eat before heading off to Philadelphia with an escort from emergency responders.

The group aims to raise awareness and pay tribute to military members and emergency responders who have passed away.
