On Monday evening, the Falls Board of Supervisors voted to grant preliminary and final land development approval for the installation of an eight-lane synthetic track and an artificial turf field, as well as LED stadium lights.
The upgrades are part of a multi-phase project, with future upgrades to include new restrooms, concession area, and indoor space for teams.
James Lynch, principal of D’Huy Engineering Inc., told the supervisors that use of the stadium will resume at Falcon Field this year.

The construction contract has already been awarded with work set to begin in April.

Lynch said the LED stadium lights are “designed for zero light trespass” into nearby yards.

Falcon Field is expected to be able to accommodate 5,000 people.
The district’s $4.2 million stadium overhaul has already seen new bleachers and a fresh press box added to the facility last year.
Supervisor Vice Chairman Jeff Boraski expressed excitement about the lighting upgrade, adding: “I know Pennsbury will be satisfied with the LED upgrade”.

Lynch said the district is working to clear up a sewer allocation for the project and the entire high school site. The district will need a waiver to add toilets that will connect to the public system.
The district has been looking to revamp Falcon Field for several years. It is also looking at a larger renovation and upgrades to the high school campus.
