Bristol Twp. Residents Invited To Sign Up For CPR Classes

The Bristol Township Fire Marshal’s Office and Bristol Township Fire Rescue and Emergency Management are offering a two-hour, fast-paced CPR training classes for residents of the township.

The training is designed to equip locals with the basic skills needed to care for a family member until emergency responders arrive.

Officials said the class is not a certification course, but rather an opportunity for residents to learn how to care for family members in an emergency.

The classes will be taught by a firefighter/EMTs who are state-certified instructors.

The training covers a range of topics, including severe bleeding and tourniquets, CPR for adults, children and infants, choking for adults and children and infants, diabetic emergencies, seizures and other topics as requested. Pre-registration is required for the classes, which will be held at the Bristol Township Municipal Building auditorium.

There is no minimum age to participate in the training, but all persons under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, officials said.

Residents can choose from three dates, but space is limited. The dates are Tuesday, April 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Thursday, April 13 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

The training is kid-friendly, and families are encouraged to attend together, according to emergency responders.

Individual family classes are also available upon request.
