It’s Our 10th Birthday – We’re Humbled & Thankful

Hi neighbors,

Ten years ago today – March 13, 2013 – LevittownNow.com began publishing and started our decade-long journey.

As a journalist, publisher, and lifelong Bucks Countian, I have to give a hearty ‘thank you’ to everyone who has read our stories, sent us a tip, advertised, become an In The Know Club member, worked for us, or offered constructive feedback. We’re powered by you – the community.

Over the decade, our small but mighty team worked long hours covering news and hit the streets selling advertising. Our goal has been to find stories that matter to you.

Our goal has been and continues to be providing Levittown-area residents “everything you need to know.”

We’ve been here to cover triumph and tragedy. We’ve covered every major and many, many smaller stories in the area.

Over the past decade, we know we haven’t been perfect, but we’ve been upfront, truthful, independent, and contextual. There are plenty of things we need to do better, and we will do better as we enter this next decade.

Data has proved that we’re the area’s most read local news publication. More than 80 percent of all adults in the area read LevittownNow.com. Things wouldn’t be that way without the trust you have placed in us.

I still amazed and humbled to hear mentions of our news organization out in the public when people are having discussions or when someone approaches me at the store. I’ve been amazed to see legislation passed because of news articles we’ve published and dozens of missing people have been located – and possibly their lives saved – because of tips from our readers. A rough and conservative estimate has shown we’ve donated more than $350,000 to local nonprofits through contributions of advertising and other services over the decade.

I said this at five years and it is still true: “The long hours, short weekends, phone calls at 1 a.m., vacations spent on my laptop, and support from our core team have helped turn LevittownNow.com from an idea I had with a colleague to a full-fledged business. Due to our core team and a larger group of reporters, we have been able to provide the latest headlines to you every single day since March 13.”

The on-the-ground, factual reporting we do can certainly expensive and time-consuming. It’s hard work and not easy to pull off, but it has been proven to be vital for the success of our area.

We’re going to be spending the next year celebrating 10 years and thanking all of those – there’s too many to name today – who have brought LevittownNow.com into existence and helped it continue on.

I know a lot of businesses don’t last 10 years, and I’m humbled we have been around for that long of a time. Running a business is hard. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, but it certainly is rewarding.

We hope to be here for another 10 and look forward to continuing to serve the Levittown area.
