5.11 Tactical, which owned by publicly-traded holding company Compass Diversified, opened its doors in the The Court at Oxford Valley in mid-February.
The store fills the former Pier 1 location off Commerce Boulevard and Oxford Valley Road that closed in 2021. It will share the building with the under construction Mission BBQ location.
5.11 Tactical describes its stores as the “ideal opportunity for public safety professionals, military personnel, and outdoor enthusiasts to engage with the 5.11 brand and its knowledgeable staff.”

5.11 Tactical, according to the company, works to hire former members of the military to staff their locations.
The new store is tailored to the region and offers apparel and gear for men and women.

The company operates more than 100 locations and traces its roots back to a pants design in the 1960s. The only other location in Pennsylvania is near Pittsburgh and no locations are open in New Jersey.
Compass Diversified, the company that owns 5.11 Tactical, said in a 2022 press release that more than $70 million in capital has been put into opening retail stores and expanding distribution capacity in recent years.
