“It’s always been a special place me,” he said. “My daughter was born here, but you know, unfortunately, there’s been some sadness. My father passed here and my aunt had passed here. The hospital brings you tears of joy and tears of sadness.”

Recalling that March day in 1973, Bonnie Capriotti remembered an easy birth of Mark with welcoming hospital staff who took care of her in the days after.

As the Capriottis headed to the hospital in 1973 – after getting stuck for a short time at the train crossing at the Langhorne Train Station – they didn’t realize they were going to be first to use the new hospital’s maternity ward.

Bonnie Capriotti said she received congratulations from the hospital administration at the time, and the family was invited back over the years.

On display at the celebration was Bonnie Capriotti’s collection of records and photos from her son’s birth at the hospital.

Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick and State Sen. Frank Farry presented Mark Capriotti with proclamations for his birthday. They also noted they realized at the celebration that they worked with Mark Capriotti in their youth as employees at Sesame Place, where Mark Capriotti worked as a performer.
