If the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl on Sunday, Bristol Township and Middletown Township police are prepared for a celebration at the busy Five Points intersection.

With several celebrations under their belts in recent years, officers are ready for any potential festivities with thousands of people at the intersection that sits in both municipalities.
“Between our two police departments and two highway departments, we have an operations plan in place,” Bristol Township police Lt. Sean Cosgrove told LevittownNow.com.
While Cosgrove didn’t go into specifics, he said additional officers from the two townships will be in place.

The command officer said he couldn’t endorse fans flooding the intersection and closing it if the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs, but the police and public works departments are prepared to close the intersection for a bit of time after.
“If it happens, we’re prepared to deal with it,” he said.

Unlike in Philadelphia, it didn’t appear as of Saturday that the poles were greased at the Five Points intersection. Cosgrove said he couldn’t comment.
Five Points was a gathering point for fans when the Phillies won the World Series in 1980 and in 2008. Last October, Phillies celebrated the team heading the World Series. When the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC Championship in 2018, about 150 people gathered. Two weeks later when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, a very large crowd gathered to celebrate the big win.
Just two weeks ago, fans gathered at the intersection for the NFC Championship win. No major problems were reported.
