Within minutes of the Phillies’ 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres, local fans began to fill the corners of the intersection that sits in both Bristol Township and Middletown Township around 6:25 p.m.
Traffic jammed up as more fans flooded from the corners and into the intersection of New Falls, Woodbourne, Edgely, and Bristol-Emilie roads, one of the busiest in the area.
Bristol Township and Middletown Township police blocked traffic as the crowd grew. It appeared to be 100 to 200 people.

Cheers of “Phillies!” and “Let’s go Phillies” filled the air as fireworks could be heard from nearby neighborhoods. Fans – some with beers in hand – were dressed in Phillies shirts, hats, and even necklaces.
By 6:50 p.m., police had opened the Five Points intersection up as the crowd shrunk. Honks from cars and passing trucks filled the air.

No major problems were spotted as of 7 p.m.
Five Points was a gathering point for fans when the Phillies won the World Series in 1980 and in 2008. When the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC Championship in 2018, about 150 people gathered. Two weeks later when the Eagles won the Super Bowl, a very large crowd gathered to celebrate the big win.
