Vehicles Found With Smashed Windows Along Area Highways

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating two break-ins of disabled vehicles along I-295 in Middletown Township.

The first happened between the morning of January 9 and the early morning hours of January 10 along I-295 westbound in Middletown Township, according to state police.

Troopers checked on a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder the highway. They discovered the vehicle, a 2005 Subaru Outback, was abandoned the its passenger-side window was smashed with the glove box rummaged through, troopers said.

State police said the vehicle was owned by a man from Howell, New Jersey.

In the early morning hours last Sunday, troopers came upon a disabled Hummer H3 along I-95 northbound in Bensalem Township not far from the border with Bristol Township.

Troopers said the Hummer was found to be unoccupied and the hazard lights were activated. The front passenger-side window was found to be shattered.

There were no indications the Hummer was rummaged through, state police said.

The Hummer was owned by a man from Morrisville.

The investigations into both incidents remain open.
