Bucks Countians & Local Businesses To Share Stage At Gubernatorial Inauguration

When Gov.-Elect Josh Shapiro takes office on Tuesday, several Bucks Countians and local businesses will share the stage.

The Shapiro-Davis Inaugural Committee announced guests and businesses that will be featured as part of the Montgomery County Democrat’s move from attorney general to the state’s top elected office.

Stephanie Mack, a Bristol Borough resident and wife of fallen Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Martin Mack, will be on the stage as a special guest of Shapiro’s on Tuesday at the state Capitol in Harrisburg as he takes the oath.

Hulmeville Borough Council President Tom Wheeler, a Republican who voted for former President Donald Trump twice but has supported Shapiro, will also be a special guest.

A number of other guests from across the state will also be on the stage, including victims of crime aided by Shapiro’s attorney general’s office and small business owners.

“Gov.-Elect Shapiro invited these special guests to the swearing-in because their stories have inspired him and fueled his drive to serve. All of these special guests are individuals the governor-elect has met through his public service,” Shapiro’s transition team said in a statement.

Lt. Gov.-Elect Austin Davis will be sworn in at 10 a.m. and Shapiro will take the oath of office at noon The celebration and party will take place Tuesday evening. It will feature performances by Wiz Khalifa, Smokey Robinson, and Mt. Joy.

The Shapiro-Davis Inaugural Committee will use Bucks County small businesses at Tuesday evening’s celebration and party outside of Lancaster.

Bristol Borough’s Mountain Laurel Spirits, which makes the acclaimed Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey; Baked With Love By Bubbe of Warrington Township; and Vault Brewing Company of Yardley Borough will have their goods featured at the highly-anticipated event.

“We are thrilled to feature an amazing array of Pennsylvania businesses from across the Commonwealth at the Inaugural Celebration,” said Amanda Warren, executive director of the Shapiro-Davis Inaugural Committee. “Gov.-Elect Shapiro knows our local businesses are the backbone of Pennsylvania’s economy — so we are proud to have over 60 locally owned and operated businesses partnering with us to mark the beginning of the Shapiro-Davis Administration.”

Prior to the inauguration, former governors Tom Corbett, a Republican; Tom Ridge, a Republican; Mark Schweiker, a Republican from Lower Bucks County; and departing Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat will share breakfast with Shapiro at the Governor’s Residence near the Capitol. Former Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell will be unable to attend due to mobility challenges that make long trips difficult.
