A new Levittown storage facility is under construction at the site of a former grocery store.
Provemi Sheikh Group LLC and PV Asset Management, both of Baltimore, are building a large self-storage building on 2.83 acres at the former Aldi store on Woodbourne Road in Middletown Township’s Levittown section.
The former 15,211-square-foot Aldi store in the 300 block of Woodbourne Road was torn down in recent months and work began on a 125,232-square-foot self-storage facility.
On a recent afternoon, work was progressing on construction of the new facility.

The developer initially sought to also construct a fast food restaurant on the property, but the pad site restaurant was removed from the plan.
Aldi closed at the location and moved in summer 2019. Aldi opened in a new store a short distance away.
Aldi had occupied the spot since 2004.
The new proposed construction would not touch the nearby area where plans for a several-hundred unit residential complex fell apart a few years ago.
