A franchise smoothie company has opened a location in Middletown Township.

Smoothie King opened in early December in Lincoln Plaza along East Lincoln Highway. The store is situated between the Michaels Arts and Crafts and under-construction Amazon Fresh store.
Smoothie King is known for making a variety of smoothies designed to have a “flavor for every taste.” The company also sells goods in stores, such as energy bars, vitamins, supplements, and more.
Steve and Cindy Kuhnau established Smoothie King in Kenner, Louisiana, in 1973. The Kuhnaus sold the business in 2012 to Wan Kim, a South Korean Smoothie King franchisee since 2002. He leads the business as CEO.

What’s Now Philly reported last year that franchisee Humza Tanvir, who operates the Smoothie King location in Lower Southampton Township, runs the Middletown Township store.
Smoothie King has more than 1,300 locations worldwide, with the company opening 100 new stores in 2021.

In addition to the Lower Southampton Township location, there is also a Smoothie King located in Newtown Township.
