The Bristol Meyers Squib Foundation, an independent charitable organization, donated the money to fund major support and upgrades to the hospital, which is in the Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic network.
The lab upgrades will enhance procedures by improving visibility of heart and vascular systems, reduce radiation, and seamlessly integrate software within the cardiac catheterization labs.
Specifically, improvements will reduce procedure time by 17 percent, patient preparation by 12 percent, and reduction radiation for cardiac imaging by 23 percent. Vascular procedure times will be reduced by 83 percent.

The vascular system is a network of blood and lymph vessels that moves blood and lymph throughout the body. Greater clarity and quality are vital components in light of advances in increasingly complex procedures, said Dr. Michael Magro DO, president of the medical center.
John Damonti, president of the Bristol Meyers Foundation, praised St. Mary for its commitment to “vulnerable communities, regardless of who they are or where they live.”

Magro thanked the foundation for its generosity.
“This gift will have an enormously positive impact on St. Mary’s ability to continue to provide our patients with the entire spectrum of cardiac services through the convenience, completeness, and safety of a full-service heart and vascular center,” Magro said.
