This week, core boring operations will again be taking place Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. along Pine Street (Route 413). In the area of the core boring, the road will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers directing traffic between Flowers Avenue and Woods Drive, PennDOT said in a statement.
PennDOT officials advise drivers should give extra time while traveling through the work zone.
The core boring work is weather dependent.

The advance engineering work is part of the ongoing reconstruction and widening of almost three miles of roadway, improving the interchanges, and constructing several new bridges, including new structures over the Neshaminy Creek and over rail lines near the Penndel exit. The Route 1 project is on Phase 2. Theย second phase will widen the highway.
The $111.5 million second phase of the project is being carried out by Chester County-based contractor JD Eckman Inc. The work is expected to be done in mid-2026.

The $95 million Phase 1 of the project in Bensalem Township is getting closer to being completed.
A third phase would begin at the Penndel Interchange and continue just past the Pine Street (Route 413) overpass in Middletown Township. The work is expected to be finished by the end of 2026.
There has been opposition to the project largely centered in Langhorne Borough, but PennDOT has pushed forward with the plan.
