Last Thursday, Bristol Township Council recognized Stone for his 50 years of service with his family in the audience.
“We want to honor your 50 years,” Council President Craig Bowen said.
“It’s been that long?” Stone shot back.
Township officials called Stone’s 50 years of service an “amazing accomplishment” and provided him with plaque of recognition.

“We’ve had great bosses,” he said, but he made a point to note the current leadership of Township Manager Randee Elton and Public Works Director Charlie Dearnley.

“I can’t say enough good things. He’s a rare breed. Every morning I get a ‘God bless you.’ He’s just one of the most guarantee people I know. I’m just thankful to have him,” Dearnley said.
The public works director heralded Stone’s five decades as a testament to his service to Bristol Township.

Dearnley added that Stone’s dedication has been an inspiration to all his co-workers.
“Thank you, Chet. Congratulations!” Bowen said.
Stone joked that he would pay everyone the next day for saying such nice things about him.
