2. Why are you seeking this office?

For me, working towards a time where people can actually breathe, and not constantly worrying about paying bills, finding affordable housing, and choosing between food and medications. My husband and I almost lost our home in 2009, and I know what it feels like to be at my lowest. I have life experiences that allow me to listen, be empathetic, and have a will to help others.

3. If elected, what legislation would you propose or support in regards to the economy? How would you support small businesses?

As a small business owner, I understand how challenging it can be to survive, let aloneย thrive.ย  Small businesses are the engine of our economy.ย  I was proud to support the 2022-2023 state budget which prioritized economic development by expandingย deductions for businesses up to 1.08 million, matching the IRS limit. Increased the overallย funding to the department of community and economic development by 63 %.ย  Lastlyย incrementally decreased the corporate net income tax rate from 9.99% to 4.99% by 2031.

4. With reversal of Roe v. Wade, what is your position on abortion?

Every person deserves equal access to the full range of reproductive health care services, including safe and legal abortion.ย  Barriers to abortion access have the greatest impact on the poor, the vulnerable, and people of color.ย ย

5. Health care has consistently ranked among the most important issues for Levittown-area voters. What is your stance on health care and the state governmentโ€™s role in it?

Quality health care is coverage is a right for every person, and a matter of economicย security.ย Before the ACA was created in 2010, a devastating diagnosis could bankrupt a family andย leave them homeless.ย  Between 2011 and 2015, we had millions caught in a cruel donuthole, making too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to qualify for a ACAย subsidized plan.ย  I was proud to vote for Medicaid expansion to help many more residents.ย It allowed 1 million more people in Pennsylvania to qualify.ย  Also, in 2021, I was proud toย vote to expand the income eligibility for the PACE program.ย  That has enabled 100,000 moreย seniors to obtain low cost prescription drugs.

6. The Pennsylvania Constitution states โ€œpeople have a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and aesthetic values of the environment.โ€ What is your position on protecting the environment and combating climate change?ย

We need to make a significant investment in renewable energy as a commonwealth.ย  This isย not only and environmental issue, but an economic one as well.ย  Climate change and theย increased intensity of recent storms that have resulted, are costing us billions of dollars.ย Renewable energy technology adds jobs to the economy, and adds a stable tax base for theย future.

7. Where do you stand on the issue of gun control? Also, where do you stand on combating gun violence?

Every year 30,000 people die due to gun violence.ย  Some common sense gun reform lawsย are urgently needed.ย  I would supports a bill that limits ammunition magazines to 10 rounds.ย I would support a bill that prohibits the possession of any firearm that is undetectable byย airport level detection devices, and lastly to ban the sale and manufacturing of assaultย weapons.

8. If a voter expressed concern to you about election security in Pennsylvania, how would you respond?

Safeguards protect the integrity of the mail-in/absentee ballots.ย  We just need to makeย voting more accessible for all people, and also make it easier for counties to pre-canvassย results for Election Day.

9. What are the greatest problems in your district, and how do you intend to address them?

The most important issues in my district all revolve around financial areas whether it is lackย of affordable housing, high cost of food and gas, and extreme costs of childcare.ย  I haveย authored legislation to help parents with tax credits towards childcare.ย  I have supportedย legislation expanding the tax rent rebate program so that more residents can benefit.ย  Iย will continue to fight for the people in my district to make their lives easier and moreย rewarding.

10. What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

The best advice I ever received was to listen wholeheartedly, and if you are not sure just answer with โ€œlet me think about thatโ€ before rushing to an incorrect or impolite answer.
