Cate’s Spotlight: Historic Bristol Day Is Fast Approaching

The “46th Historic Bristol Day on Saturday, October 15 will be dedicated to Catherine McCarry, a beloved lifelong Bristol Borough resident who was a former board member of Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation and Historic Bristol Day chairperson,” confirmed chairpersons Mary Gesualdi and Nicholas A. Rizzo.

Brake for Bristol day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the 46th annual Historic Bristol Day, sponsored by the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation, celebrating its rich history. Come for a day of fun!

Historic Bristol Day is always the third Saturday in October when the trees begin to take on a multi-golden hue, and front steps are home to color-rich chrysanthemums.

The Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving over three centuries of Bristol Borough’s history and increasing cultural opportunities for all residents of the community, promoting pride which translates into helping and enhancing the treasure that has been inherited.

Historic Bristol on the Delaware is a perfect place, alive and well with a plethora of promising great things to happen and all are invited to come shop, eat, stroll, chat and spend the day.

Small towns have become a national icon, a national tradition.

Every now and again, you are fortunate enough to stumble upon a town that’s gotten everything right— cafés that serve great coffee, restaurants that prepare terrific food and a plethora of character to share. It’s the kind of place where people are invested in making sure history is paid real respect.

The Historic Bristol Day festival is a fun-filled, high energy, active learning event for ALL ages featuring entertainment, historical tours, vendors, crafters, a totally amazing car show, food court, walking tours, house tours, historic buildings opened to the public, entertainment, a sailing regatta, an antique boat show, a myriad of children’s activities, and so very much more!

Bristol Day is chock full of colonial like entertainment including music, dance, living history, children’s games and particularly delicious festive food.

Bid in the silent auction for an original artwork by this award winning, accomplished Bucks County artist. Look for the table on Radcliffe Street. 

Each time-honored traditional event and exhibit is well worth a stop, so poke around in all of the presentations, and enjoy the food, friendship and fun.

Vendors are cordially invited to display and sell their particular crafts. The participation fee for a 10 x 10 space [all spaces will be the same size] is $70 for business or crafters. There is a fee of $30 for non-profit tables. 

The craft fair has become one of the Historic Bristol Day highlights, drawing many visitors to this picturesque, historic riverfront town.

Preliminary plans are to place the vendors in the 200 and 300 blocks of Radcliffe Street which will be closed to vehicular traffic from early morning to 5 p.m.

Participants are to arrive in time to have their displays complete, attended to and open to the public by 9:30 a.m. Between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., complimentary refreshments will be served to vendors at Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation headquarters at 321 Cedar Street.
