
A famous rapper who recently resided in Bensalem Township was shot dead at a restaurant in south Los Angeles.

Rakim Hasheem Allen, 30, who was better known as PnB Rock, was killed Monday afternoon moments after a man demanded the rapper’s jewelry at Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles. The incident quickly escalated into a struggle that ended with a gun being fired, police said.
Nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting that shocked the hip-hop community.
Allen is known for the song “Fleek” and Billboard charting single “Selfish.” He has been seen as a rising star among a new crop of rappers.

Gossip site TMZ reported Allen’s girlfriend Steph Sibounheuang, who is the mother of one of his two kids, tagged herself at the chicken and waffle joint shortly before the shooting.
The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday that city police are investigating whether the post led to the gunman targeting the Philadelphia-born rapper who recently was based in Los Angeles.

The newspaper cited police sources when stating investigators are looking at surveillance video as they search for Allen’s shooter.
Speculation about who shot the rapper has circulated on social media, but the many claims are unproven as of Tuesday evening.
Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, a Los Angeles-area staple, issued a statement following the shooting mourning the rapper’s death and stating they take safety and security of customers and staff above all else.

Fans of the rapper remembered him following his murder.
“His music was excellent,” fan Sheldon Thompson told Los Angeles’ KABC-TV. “He didn’t rap about the wrong things. He rapped about the right things. And he had a bright future ahead of him. Just to hear he didn’t survive is heartbreaking.”

At the time of his death, Allen was on probation for a 2021 Bucks County drug-related conviction.
The 2020 murder of Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke in Hollywood led to police suspecting his attackers learned his location due to information shared on social media. Stars have opted against sharing their location on social media as they are there in recent years due to threats.
