After a relatively dry summer, the Levittown area is set to get soaked Tuesday.

Rain that started Monday night is expected to continue through Tuesday and have showers lingering into Wednesday.
The National Weather Service office in Mt. Holly, New Jersey is calling for Lower Bucks County to see 1.5 inches to 2 inches of rain through Tuesday night. Upstate Pennsylvania and southern New York are expected to get as much or more, which will lead that that water entering the Delaware River.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the entire region is expected to received a “solid soaking rain.”

The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for the area through Tuesday night.
The dry ground may cause higher-than-normal stormwater runoff amounts, leading to flooding of urbanized and low-lying areas, forecasters warned.

The rainfall is expected, at least temporarily, to ease drought concerns.
The same storm system brought heavy rain to New England on Labor Day and caused flooding in spots.
After the system moves rain out of the area on Wednesday, the rest of the week looks clear with daytime highs in the low 80s and nighttime temperatures in the low 60s as summer marches toward fall.

National Weather Service data shows that Trenton has received 5.58 inches less rainfall this summer than in a normal summer. In addition, the area has seen 31 days of temperatures at 90 or above, while an average year gets 22 days of 90 or above.
