On Sunday, August 28 at 3:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven at Trenton and Woodbourne Roads in the Levittown section of Middletown Township for a report of an attempted vehicle theft, police said.
A responding officer arrived and began to investigate. As he was on the scene, the man the 7-Eleven clerk complained about pushed the officer. The patrolman requested additional assistance, which brought more officers to the scene, police said.
Once an additional officer responded, the suspect threw a cup of hot coffee on the two, police said.
