Shortly after noon, cleaning staff at the Rodeway Inn on Green Lane near Route 13 found what appeared to be “poorly assembled pipe bomb,” police Lt. Ralph Johnson told LevittownNow.com.
The device was taken outside of the motel and moved to the grassy portion of the courtyard by staff, Johnson said.
Patrol units alerted the Philadelphia Police Department’s bomb squad and they responded.

“They carefully collected the device and took it with them for inspection and disposal,” Johnson said.
The possible bomb was found in the room of a person who was arrested Thursday night in a separate location, Johnson said.

The name of the person involved has not yet been released. Details on their prior arrest weren’t released.
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case and recommended charges.
As of Friday evening, Johnson said Bristol Township police were awaiting a report on the device from the Philadelphia police.

Bristol Township Fire Police blocked the area around the motel while the device was investigated and moved by the city’s bomb squad.
This is the second time in a week that the Philadelphia Police Department’s bomb squad was in the area. Last Saturday, the bomb squad responded after an explosive device was located during a traffic stop.
