A portion of Pond Street in Bristol Borough was closed Tuesday night due a sinkhole.

Police and fire police shut down the road between Penn Street and Beaver Road after the sinkhole was reported.
The street was expected to remain closed until borough officials had conducted an assessment of the damage, police said.
The street remained closed as of 10 p.m.
