Retired Police Officer, Volunteer Firefighter Honored By VFW

Falls Township officials and the Veterans of Foreign Wars honored two local emergency responders Monday evening.

At the Falls Township Board of Supervisors meeting, retired Falls Township police Officer John Yeager and Levittown Fire Company No. 1 Firefighter Brian Huber were honored for their service. They both received national recognition through the VFW.

“This award is not given to everybody,” a VFW official said.

Yeager and Huber were picked from a group of candidates from the state’s 425 VFW posts.

The John Billington VFW Post 6495 on Haines Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section nominated Yeager and Huber.

The two public servants nominations made it through 25 district’s in Pennsylvania before going to the national level.

“It tells me we have the best in Falls Township,” the VFW representative said.
