
Falls Township police and the Pennsylvania State Police will be taking to the roads to look for aggressive drivers on Wednesday.

The municipal police department will be teaming with troopers for a coordinated aggressive driving detail that will target those who tailgate, speed, and change lanes without proper signaling or space.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration defines aggressive drivers as someone who “commits a combination of moving traffic offenses so as to endanger other persons or property.”
“Please reflect on your driving habits, as well as those of your loved ones, and drive safely!” police said in a statement.

Aside from local roads, Falls Township has busy Oxford Valley Road, New Falls Road, Tyburn Road, Route 1, and Route 13.
The U.S. Department of Transportation issued the following tips on how to avoid aggressive drivers:

โข Get out of their way and steer clear of them on the road.
โข Stay relaxed. Remember that reaching your destination safely and calmly is your goal.
โข Donโt challenge them. Avoid eye contact.

โข Ignore rude gestures and refuse to return them.
โข Give them the benefit of the doubt. Not all aggressive driving behavior is directed at you.

โข Donโt block the passing lane, especially if you are driving slower than most of the traffic. Move
to the right lane.
